4th July
Matt was back for a Breakfast weekend this weekend. I didn't see this morning but when I got up it was cloudy and rather damp at around....................midday!!!
(after some weird dream about drink driving!!!!!! was *very* relieved it was a dream!!!) This afternoon was quite lovely though, especially in the beer garden!!! Then a bbq back home and some more wine
Apart from that...what can I say....no banter as per usual, a happy chirpy weatherman doing his best for us. The heatwave having moved away now, but still some nice weather between those showers.

Touch and go there at the old regatta!!
Matt was of course on Vernon's how on radio 1 as well:

30th/1st July
Another nightshift for Matt appearing on the news channel.
The News presenter (I'm sorry I tried to find out his name but couldn't!) said: 'Matt Taylor is here with the weather forecast now...... more heatwave pictures to come I suspect.' Matt: ' oh yes, more pictures of the beach and ice creams for the next few days, and certainly quite warm out there at the moment, quite a muggy night in store for all of us'. Big spot showers around too! I'm loving big spot showers, they are seriously wet! (As opposed to the drier sort.......obviously!) No storms on the horizon for me then
Looks like the mini heatwave is set to break at the end of the week but as its still only the start of July I'm totally optimistic of at least another 3 - 5 days of summer this year yet!!

I have never seen the glowing globe before! Very nice!

29th/30th June
Matt was on the night shift last night on the News channel. The story of the mini heatwave continuing
and some storms and heavy downpours for some lucky people. It started raining on my walk from the car to the office his morning and again from the office to the car tonight!! Cheek!! It wasn't much though, just the first few spots.
Matt was wearing his pretty rainbow tie last night

I love the dramatic lightning globe!

As much as I love the heat, I hope I get a storm out of all this at some point.

28th June
Today Matt had obviously been using Daz. His white shirt gleaming against the blue background. And the blue being the sea not swathes of rain (aprt from a bit off the south west coats)! A grey start for most of us today, but another warm day. Lots of cloud by the seems of it (we certainly have it here, hardly seen the sun at all
) and more storms in some parts. I'm just looking forward to this heatwave!! Even if I do have to go to work
Hot is hot wherever you you! And my desk is by the window.
No banter to report. Charlie asked Dr Rosemary what the symptoms of sunstroke are..............you mean there are people who have not had sunstroke!! What's that all about! They've not lived!!!

Look at those loverrrrly temperatures, if you can take your eyes of the weatherman!!
The Whinge!
I'm sorry, I'm going to have to whinge! Not about the weather though! Oh no!!
It does seem that in 2009 we need to be told how to behave when the temperatures get a couple of degrees above normal! How on earth did people survive heatwaves in the past when they didn't have the likes of Dr Rosemary Leonard??? Makes you wonder doesn't it! How fortunate we are that there's someone on the TV for every eventually telling you how to behave! For those of us that lived through the summer on 1976, it must have been a miracle we survived at all! When you see pictures of that summer, what do you see? People happy, wearing kiss me quick hats or knotted hankerchiefs, with ice creams, and having a good time. Yes, there are those that suffer and they need extra care, but they are a *very* small minority of the population, we don't all need to hear 'advice' about how to keep cool every time the mercury hits 25C or more! How about we switch off the nonsense and switch on our brains! If you do stupid things in hot weather you suffer the consequences, whats wrong with that! If you're heathly.... I think you'll live! Drink water! Simple! And enjoy!!
